EXTENDING SUPPORT TO COUNTIES

During this unprecedented time, where global supply chains have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Frigoken Ltd. (FKL) has persevered to maintain its engagement with thousands of small-scale rural farmers. Recently, Frigoken Ltd supported the counties of Embu, Muranga, Kirinyaga, Nakuru, Nyandarua, and Laikipia with PPE’s for distribution to the local hospitals to support health workers who are in the frontline in support of the fight against the coronavirus and exposed to hazards that put them at risk of infection.

Mr.  Joseph Mbai, Muranga County CEC Health, noted that the county health workers, use approximately 2,000 masks per day. “Frigoken is one of the companies that has supported the Muranga county, and we sincerely appreciate the donation from Frigoken and hope that other corporates to emulate, as we cannot fight this pandemic on our own, a concerted effort is required”.

In Embu County, Eng. Wanganawa, Minister of Health noted that, “This donation will go a long way in consolidating the efforts that are geared towards the overall achievement in the success of the fight against the pandemic”.

In addition to the various donations, Frigoken continues to ensure that all employees and small-scale farmers continue to adhere to the various Government containment and precautionary measures.

All collection centers have handwashing stations free for all in the local communities to use, and key messaging is reinforced with posters and leaflets. In spite of all the challenges faced in farming during this ‘new normal’ Frigoken continues to promote sustainable farming practices; ensuring that farmers can continue to produce beyond this pandemic, for generations to come.
